Alexa Updates Traffic Stat Display
Today I noticed Alexa has finally given a much needed revamp to their traffic ranking display. No redesigns here, just some more useful info, and some changes. Here’s a link.
First thing I noticed: They finally changed your traffic ranking for “Today” which was always the day before to yesterday. Next, they changed the Reach stat.It used to be some random formula of how many users out of a random million visited your site. Now it’s a percentage, but still a random million.
They then added some new bars, showing where in the world that traffic comes from, and I can see, for my site the Alexa toolbar users are mostly American, British and Canadian. But next is my favourite new feature: the traffic rankings in other countries. If you’re in the top 100k for other countries, Alexa now tells you which ones. Apparently this site is top 8k in Slovenia! It’s also good to see top 75k for my two top countries, Canada and USA.
So while Alexa isn’t a great measure of statistics, it now provides a little better insight and some more interesting stuff. Food for thought. And props to the new stuff, Alexa!
