5 Ways How to make the ‘Good’ kind of Money
So what is exactly the ‘good’ kind of money? I think everyone would agree that it would be the kind that comes fast. Unlike most “how to make money online” articles that tell you to build traffic and advertise and stuff, this will have money in your pockets as fast as today. Ofcourse, all things considered there is one thing you’ll need to do most of these is talent/ability, or already have established yourself. You don’t need to be the next big thing or some huge design studio, but have something that you can apply some of these methods on, ie your website.
- The first one is a method which I definitely don’t see used enough. It is site flipping. Flipping a website refers to creating for the sole purpose of selling it off in a short amount of time. These are just simple turnkey sites, that prefereably are well designed and have a function CMS. You can work on two or three turnkey sites a month, and list them in the SitePoint Marketplace for cheap. The thing with site flipping, is that if you list it on SitePoint, DigitalPoint and other popular sites, there will be someone who is interested. It’s almost garunteed. This method has a timeframe of about a couple of weeks, or sooner if you work faster. Remember- if you’re a coder don’t be afraid to hire a good designer. Paying $200 for a design that will sell so upwards of $1000 in a couple of weeks is a pretty good exchange.
- Enter contests. This one is for the designers. Every single waking day on earth there are a ton of new design contests popping up. SitePoint comes in to play again with their great contests section of their markeplace.Because a lot of people do this, you’re going to basically need to throw down a great design for something, whether they need a whole site, logo, or even a graphic asking their girlfriend to marry them. This is where you take advantage of your creativity and skills to earn some money. Timeline here is pretty much ASAP, as you cant sort the contests by time and enter the shorter ones.
- Freelancer? Looking to do some client work? Fight for your clients. If you want to make more money by freelancing, chances are if you offer competitive rates and offer more features for less money than your competitors, you’ll get more clients, and in turn more money. It will end up being more time working if you offer more stuff, but the quantity will balance it out sooner than later. The timeline for this is ASAP aswell. The sooner you start doing this, the sooner it’ll happen. And always keep this in min: don’t treat the client like a client unless it’s business time. They’re a normal person just like you, and they need you to do your job to do theirs, so treat them with respect and be nice.
- I know I said this article would tell you to advertise, but this method should work out a lot better and faster than Google Ads or other random CPM and CPC ad networks. Sell advertising on HUGE webmaster forums. SitePoint and DigitalPoint are the two that come to mind first. This goes back to the point of there is always somebody. If you have a site that you would advertise on yourself, AKA it gets some traffic, good niche, or a strangly high CTR and conversion rate, someone will want to advertise with you. Again, the timeline is as soon as you act on it. Wait a couple days and you should be getting a respose, if not check to see if anyone is telling you why. If there isn’t any critiques or anything post in the critique forums
- Lastly, for short term cash, the most important thing to me is: Don’t reinvent the wheel, just add new treads. Basically, creating the next, unique big thing probably isn’t going to happen to you (but don’t stop trying), and you’re better off with an idea that has been done before, but here’s the theory behind that. If you use an idea, say a tutorial site, or webmaster articles. There’s a ton of sites like that out there, but make yours better.Try not to look at it as “copying” but “bettering”. The timeline on ths one is probably the same as site flipping, as they walk hand in hand.
So now here’s your sterotypical concluding paragraph. I’d restate my topics and thesis, etc… but I’m tired of having some form while writing. This is a blog after all
Feel free to post your responses. Judging from my last couple of articles, this one won’t be like by some people. Don’t be afraid to tell me ![]()

Definitely the right way to make money, but quite often you’re up against experienced buyers and project managers who will be more than happy to play you off against another designer who they claim to offer cheaper rates.
When you get there. it’s time to stick to your guns: keep your hourly rate or flat rate price and promote your quality. Chances are if you’re reading this, you’ll have plenty to offer.

Could I suggest rentacoder ? It is a freelancer website where you can see job posted and you can bid for it.
As long as you know how to use a computer and the internet, you can have a go with it. But most of the client are searching for web design and articles writings.
I have for the time being manage to get $300 out of it. I surely recommend it.
