Cracks the Technorati 100k with a Bang?
Technorati rank isn’t something I give a lot of thought to, however I do check thought my WordPress control panel pretty often. You should also be aware that for some reason, or I believe someone, John Chows blog has each page being listed separately in Technorati because their ping service… sucking. I don’t really have a problem with Technorati, but seriously: the site needs to be well coded. I’m not saying it isn’t coded well per se, and I do believe that the programmers behind it are very talented, but they just don’t seem to perfect it.
The recent release of their WTF… thing proves that they can’t be serious about perfecting their service. I’ll say this: Technorati has the potential to be the biggest website (non SE) in the world, as blogging continues to grow. It’s already top 250~ according to Alexa, but in realism, it’s more like 50-100, as they get a lot of tech savvy (aka Firefox, no Alexa) users as well. I think with a redesign, total recoding, and a MUCH easier API, Technorati could blow MySpace out of the water.
So anyways… With my review of John Chow’s blog being listed today, I’ve shot up from around 120k to around 48k because of all the duplicate pages. It may decrease as the problem is solved, but for now it’s cool
In unrelated news, now that the March break is over and I’m back in school, now more two posts per day.
