Upcoming CSS Reboot

I’m deciding on the current features/stuff I have now, and the things I want to keep or bring into my reboot, coming up a little before May 1st. I think there are a few WordPress plugins I’ll utilize better, and get some new ones going. My basic plan now is this:

  • Get some related posts going with my existing UTW plugin.
  • Add a top commentator box. It seems to promote commenting everywhere else, and thats always a good thing.
  • Change the tag cloud. I like having a huge tag cloud as a growth meter sort of, but how big is too big?
  • Contact form. Even though I do like it when the person has to actually email me themselves. It’s a bit more personal.
  • Sitemap. My Reboot will be sooo much more SEO friendly. I’m thinking of using the Cutline theme as a base instead of K2. I love the AJAX features K2 provides, but I’ll take organic traffic any day.
  • Take the stupid TLA out. I’m not saying TLA are bad, but for this site they are. Just thought I’d give a chance for some good related links @ $25/mo.

With the new Cutline framework (I’ll either use that or go from scratch) will hopefully add speed to the good load times. I’d like them to be great, but it’s hard for the pages to load really fast when they’re like 60kb or so a piece. For once it’s not DreamHost’s fault (though I can’t say anything bad about them).

In other news, I’m up over 500 spam comments caught by Akismet. If anyone needs some cheap Cialis, Viagra or Xanax, hit me up. I’m getting different spam bots now. Normally they are like this:

Nice design! link link link link link

But now they’re all like this:

I’m back!
link

95% of blog comments are spam, according to Akismet, and here it’s around 73%. I don’t know how to feel about that… I’ll be getting another RSS experiment post up soon, because I have some cool new conclusions. You can catch that on my own RSS feed, too!
