Tomorrow is Redesign Day!
At least that’s what I’ve heard.
A very reliable source has told me that tomorrow at a random time during the day the new ‘realign’ will be released. I guess you should really subscribe to RSS to find out when it goes down!
Aforementioned source has also provided me with the following info:
- It is not based on the K2 theme as this one is.
- Instead, it is built with he Cutline framework.
- It’s light, fast and Google will love it.
- All graphical headers are gone, thank god.
- H1’s finally used properly.
- Apparently there will be a top commentators box… Start now!
- Search now works on every page.
- AJAX commenting, browsing, etc… All gone. You won’t miss it.
- And more, of course!
So, third person aside, I just want to reinforce the reasons why I realigned, not redesigned. Although it is a redesign, it is strikingly similar, and you’ll know it.
- I like this design. So do other people. I just rushed it and didn’t develop ideas I had for this one.
- The framework. I’m moving away from cheesy effects (for a blog anyways) and more on to functionality and SEO. Organic traffic here I come! Framework went from K2 to Cutline.
- This layout’s usability and accessibility are virtually nonexistent. This improves, I promise. Graphical headers, etc… Gone.
- When I posted a while ago with two designs I had, people still insisted on keeping this one.
- CSS Reboot ahoy! Tomorrow I will implore you to vote for me, and hopefully I’ll get the five or so votes needed to advance (or something).
- Just looking at it, I did a better job. Cutline is sooo much easier to work with and I love it. It’s not that I had a hard time with K2, and it’s a great piece of work, but Cutline is more suited for me at this time.
Also, try to keep in mind, when I say I used the Cutline theme, don’t expect to be able to tell. You can tell in some places, but I’m hoping that my organic traffic will increase, just as Chris Pearson’s did (creator of Cutline) when he integrated his site with it.
But like I said, subscribe to RSS and get the update as soon as it happens. I have WordPress set up to ping FeedBurner after every post, so you’ll get it right away, as always

Sounds good, are you keeping the cool footer?

It might get changed around, but the footer will indeed remain
