Web Going-ons and Apple’s Quick Shipping
First off, I’d like to start by filling you in on these two things, if you haven’t been bombarded by them already:
- Google buys FeedBurner for $100,000,000.
- Technorati realigns their design.
Hopefully FeedBurner’s selling to Google doesn’t mean ads in the feeds of the users, although if they do I don’t paying a small free every month for their service, as it’s phenomenal.
Technorati also released a brand new site, realigning their design and streamlining their features. I love the new design, except for the smal, lime green Courier text scrolling at the top. What’s up with that? Is this the Matrix or something?
As recently posted, I ordered a 20′ iMac from the Apple (Canada) store online, and the response was great. I ordered it Sunday, and now today on Wednesday I will be getting it. So I get it on today, May 23rd, and they said originally I’d get it by June 5th. Awesome. The tracking service on Purolator’s behalf is very well done, telling me exactly what was going on, down to the receptionist’s name it was given to.
It was delivered to my Mom’s work because it can’t come to an empty house, so now I get to wait. What fun. I’m getting a router tonight, and once everything is working, I’ll make the totally unnecessary post about it. Then my iMac to do list:
- Wow factor, ooohs and ahhhs, amazement, etc…
- Use Safari to Download Firefox.
- Download xTorrent
- Get the Mac versions of CS3, etc…
Then I have to start transfering over my bookmarks (I forgot I had a FoxMarks account, yay) and passwords, and then I have to get all my music over and stuff. I’m still debating over whether I’ll dual-boot or not, but I’m leaning towards not doing it.
