May Stats are in

Last month was the first full month I’ve had Mint, and as I mentioned back in April, I would talk about the stats each month from Mint, and this is May. This is for all the stats junkies and number people, and lots of nerd stuff ahead, for those not interested!

First off, here are the vitals of last month:

Avg # of Subscribers was 50

Overall, it was not the best month in terms of traffic because all the way back in February I had one week that was around 3,000 hits due to some MacSurfer and WLTC traffic. Although besides that, it was my best month. Anything over 2,000/month I am very happy with, and while it may seem like not much to some, it’s a lot to many (including myself).

On the page views side of things, 5,837 is a good number to go with 2,059 I think. 2.8 pages per visitor seems high to some sites, that get barely over 1.0. This is probably because I get very few, if any viral hits. The only social bookmarking traffic I get is from Digg which might account for 1-2% of over all traffic. Although, the Digg search does send a couple people my way every day.

On a RSS note, May was by far the best month I’ve had. While my highest day was back in the aforementioned week in February (112 for those interested), that month had only 27 on average. May had 50 subscribers on average, with the highest day being 60 I believe. The 60 day was in the week where I was getting some CSS gallery traffic (late submissions) and had 812 visits in that week.

The biggest surprise in terms of referrers was the Digg search for “wordpress”, and while only bringing in 20 hits that a lot for one term in a search at all (for me). The top referrer for this month however was DesignByGrid.com. I was featured on the second day or so the site was released when it was getting a ton of traffic, and I was lucky to see some of that.

For this month, June, I’m predicting that traffic will rise. In May, Pixel2Life contributed quite a bit to my traffic with 4 articles of mine over there, and another four to be coming up tomorrow or so. I’m also going to try to write every day in June, or at the very least have 30 posts this month. May had 29 posts I believe, but I’d still like to have one for everyday of the month.
