[Quick]Weekend Lulls in Numbers
Stats. Something every serious blogger becomes obsessed with at some point. Make that anyone to ever own a website. Tracking your progress is cool, and you can look back and reflect.
A quick blogging tip: don’t dwell on your weekend numbers.
Stats are generally lower on these days because people aren’t sitting at work, getting home and checking their emails/feeds, etc… Some people may spend more time online on these days, but many don’t.
Similarly, the time of 11am-noon seems to be popular for a lot of people. Blogs with high volume postings (tech blogs mainly) will often let all their posts go very close to each other in this time.
Watching your trends in traffic and readers canĀ help you adapt your posting patterns to get the most out of them as possible. For example, I notice in the early hours of the morning my traffic dwindles and on weekends as well. I also notice that when a post goes live (I always release posts at the beginning of an hour) traffic comes in, sort of magically.
Knowing this, I could post twice on weekends, and let posts go live at midnight on week days. This is something I’ve been experimenting with a little and the results are a little inconclusive, but leaning towards the positive side.
