Blogtrepreneur For Sale!

A very long time ago I sent Adnan, the owner of Blogtrepreneur an email. I was getting my blogging feet as it were, feeling him out for a link exchange. I was PageRank crazed with newly upgraded PR5 blog, and was sending these emails out to everyone I could fine.
To my delight, he was happy to exchange links with me and as time went on his blog started to grow more and more everyday. On May 1st we launched the newly designed version of the site, which I created and ported to Cutline.
Looking back, all the gradients and things scare me, but that’s just my own style evolving. I could probably do a much cleaner job of that now, but I think the design really set the blog apart in a cookie-cutter niche filled with MistyLook themes.
It’s up for Sale
Adnan is selling the site after nearly two years of running it by himself. The site turns two this February, and with it comes over 300 posts, a few of which drew quite a bit of attention, a huge readership of loyal visitors that he has built from the ground up and lots of pretty numbers in terms of Alexa rankings and the like.
I don’t believe Adnan will be listing the site on any marketplace just this yet, and is hoping for a private sale. If you’re looking to get into this market and want a huge platform to express your thoughts, or are Splashpress media looking to buy some influence, send Adnan an email.
Any questions should be directed there as well. Good luck with the sale!

Thanks so much for the post Connor - and what a journey it’s been since we launched that theme back in May. With your help, I’ve been able to nearly reach 1k subscribers.
To all who are reading: please don’t hesitate to shoot me an email with an offer, or even if you have any questions, I’m all ears.
P.S. And it’s funny you mention Splashpress. I was in talks with them (they were v interested), but they wanted me to continue blogging at the site for 12 months due to problems they’ve had before in the past buying blogs and switching posters and posting styles (a la Wisdump).

No way, Connor you designed and coded this! It’s a sweet site and i am wondering if i should buy it or not. Depends on the price.

I honestly couldn’t put a value on it, as I’m not exactly one on the business ends of things for the most part, but I think you’d be looking at a $5k minimum.

That counts me out, ah well… would have been nice.

Its a very nice wordpress skin Connor you did an amzing job! I wish him the best of luck with the sale and hope every thing goes well. In that market he should be able to sell it in notime. I am not sure if a reader will have the kind of cash he is looking for the site but its worth a shot!
I think we will most likely see it on sitepoint in a few days or weeks, however I hope it can go privately and someone with some valuable information they can share buys it.

Like the new design. Didn’t take you long to switch from the ‘old new design’.

Mike: One thing SitePoint has going for it is the members are known for deep pockets. I don’t know how resistant Adnan is to a big open marketplace, but that’s where the big cash comes in, especially if you can get a nice bid war going on.
David: Rightfully so, I think. I still stand by the ‘old new design’ as you put it as something that wasn’t bad, but just not right for the time.

Sorry for commenting on irrelevant post but I am the first timer here who came here following Google result and find that your sidebar don’t have any recent posts list. IMHO such a list is always beneficial for visitors from search engine..

@ Henry - thanks for the kind words dude, and sorry the price was too high, would have been great having you in charge.
I’ve received some good offers so far above $5k mark - I’m looking to get $xx,000 ideally. In all honesty, I wouldn’t be against going to Sitepoint at all - but as you say, a private deal is easier for me. Cheers as well Mike for your kind words.

Now that really does count me out. It’s a shame but well, i’m not rich ;).
I really wish you good luck with the sale and i hope it’s nice and simple, no annoying problems with the money and such. Good luck!
Actually, there is one question that popped into my head. Forgive me if it has already been answered (it’s late) but why are you selling it?

Jalaj: I actually left it out because with the four or five posts on the homepage, I don’t think you miss much besides going through an extra page. If I end up scrapping the advertising, it’ll be the first thing to come back, though. I do see your point of coming from a page not linking to the front page, however. Something for me to consider.
Henry: I believe he’s looking to get out the blogging deal altogether and get on with life, but I’m sure Adnan would be able to tell you for sure. Maybe he’s going to put more time into his blog consulting company.

Also, FYI, for your advertising space, I believe you have a typo for “lonely”.
